MIP Test with Breathe-Link Medic Software
- Maximum Inspiratory Pressure (MIP) test. A test that measures the strength of the muscles used in breathing.
- Real-time / Live feedback provides healthcare professionals detailed analysis of each breath to help respiratory and pulmonary rehabilitation assessment.
- Predicted Normal Value Band. Highest One Second Average is your MIP score for the current breath.
S-Index / PIF Test Live Session
- Strength index is a measure of the patient’s inspiratory muscle strength, based on the relationship between pressure and flow.
- PIF (Flow) is a measure of the maximum rate at which the patient can inhale air into their lungs.
- This measurement is based upon the maximum measured flow rate during the test breath, which gives an indication of the speed at which the patient’s inspiratory muscles contract.

- Results Level 2 – Breath-by-breath detail of test performed is recorded allowing healthcare professionals the ability to identify trends and improvements. Includes: MIP result for each breath and average pressure for each breath.
- Results Level 3 – Individual breaths in a session can be assessed. Includes: Predicted Normal Value Band and highest one second average (the MIP score for the current breath).
- New feature* To ensure accurate and repeatable MIP results, the POWERbreathe KH2 Breathe-Link Medic software has introduced the QC MIP mechanism: The maximum value of 3 manoeuvres that vary by less then 20% is recorded.
